Hello everyone,
Just got into the whole detailing scene recently. Just a little background info....
Purchased a 2004 Honda Accord coupe in black back in Nov 2008. My previous ride was a 1990 Honda accord. Needless to say, the upkeep and detailing for that one was rather minimal.
I learned how to apply wax just last year, with the random orbital (Simoniz)... and for the most part, I was pretty satisfied with it.
I was looking to return a favour to a friend, and looked to detail her 1997 Cabrio. Upon investigating the body, it looked like there was something I had to do before applying the wax, and learned about compound.
Through the overwhelming amount of resources on the internet, I learned about Meguiar's 3-step, and proceeded to give it a shot.
Used the Scratch-X 2.0 (applied with random orbital), followed with paint cleaner (again with random orbital), skipped the polish, and went for the Gold wax (third time's a charm).
Very satisfied with the results, she said that it looked even better when she first got the car.
After that, I was very VERY interested and curious with all the methodology, science and equipment/products of detailing. The detailed nature and solemness I find is what gets me going when working on the car.
I look forward to learning a lot from everyone, and hopefully, I'll be able to contribute as well!
