  • Hello everyone

I've been lurking on here for quite some time and I figured it was time to sign up. I'm wanting to learn how to use my Makita rotary a little better. I've been too scared to use it so I bought a Porter Cable a while back. I've been using Meguiars products for many years and have always been impressed with them. I'm anxious to try some of the new offerings and I love the #83 I recently picked up.

Anyway, here's some pictures of my car...

                            Re: Hello everyone

                            Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I've been wanting to get the 560 SEC down to Meguiar's for one of the Thursday or Saturday classes. Unfortunately, it blew a hose for the hydraulic suspension so it is down for a few weeks until I can get some room to work on it. The car was given to me by my mother and has been neglected since she bought her XJ8 several years ago. I'm not sure if the paint on the hood can be saved as it looks like the clear coat may be failing. However, that's one of the reasons I would like to bring it to one of the classes.

The Mustang is my pride an joy. I've owned for about 10.5 years. It had 28,000 miles on it when I bought it in 1998 and was completely stock. It now has 140,000 miles on it and far from stock. It was featured in 5.0 Magazine in May 2001, but I have made considerable changes since then. I just finished the supercharger install and hope to get it to the dyno soon. I am expecting somewhere around 400-450rwhp.

I bought my XR4Ti for $300 7 years ago. It was almost complete, but was missing the drivetrain. I had the 2.3L turbo engine built for it, but it sat for quite some time due to time and money. I finally got it running last November, but ran into some valvetrain issues. I got the head back a couple months ago and it's been running great ever since. It is far from finished, but it's a fun little car. The picture I posted was the first time it has been buffed in at least 7 years. I clayed it, hit it with #83 on an orange LC pad and a PC and then topped it with #26 on a blue LC pad. It still has some RIDS, but it's something I'll have to live with considering the paint is original and fairly thin in some areas.

Here is a shot of the clay after I finished half of a panel (all of the panels resulted in the same)

The Ranger is my DD and gets no love. It was purchased for $2000 and I lowered it, installed buckets and an explorer console (needed cup holders), and put the Bullitt wheels on. It was repainted from silver to white single stage at some point in it's life. A decent paint job and it cleans up failry well. It's a beater though and has 254,000 miles.

I do all of my own work on my cars out of my little 20x20 garage. The only things I haven't done myself are projects that required welding.
