  • New 240 Owner From Florida

Hey guys, I just registered here. I found this site when searching on how to care for carbon fiber. I am looking to improve my detailing skills - I'm embarrassed at how my cars don't look as good as they could. Here's some pics of my '97 240SX:

I am picking up a carbon fiber stock style hood tomorrow. Also, I intend to get 18" 350Z wheels when I get my five lug conversion done. For the 1992 240SX w/ an SR20DET, I haven't had a chance to take any pictures of it as I crashed it the day I bought it - long story. I just have to get the front corner pulled and some other odds and ends, then it will be sweet.

I previously owned a shaved and bagged 2000 Ranger. I did all the work on it myself, but never had good paint on it. It made it hard for me to bother taking care of the paint!

Looks like you have a great start! With a black car, if you don't already have one, then start thinking about moving up to machine polishing and before investing in a Porter Cable unit take a look at our G110 as it has more power and you'll appreciate this the first few minutes into your first detail session.

              Thanks everyone for the welcome!

Thanks for the tip on the G110 Mike. I'll have to get it - I have a Milwaukee polisher, but it is not a dual action setup and weighs a ton. Having a black car is such a mixed blessing - they look great when they are clean, but they show every scratch and imperfection!

By the way, I've been a die hard Meguiar's guy since I bought my first vehicle.

                  Welcome,

Nissan 200 to 240 SX- Nissans sleeper version of the venerable Z cars.

Mine was a 200SX 100% all white out body paint with machine finished spoke alloys and Continental tires.

like Phillips said- not bad for black- just needs a bit more "polish"

Wow Cam - your 240 is really clean. I'm going to follow suit and use those exact products to give mine a good shine!
