Firstly I wanted to say thanks to all of you for ALL the information and help provided in these forums.
Now a little about me. Born and raised in Kansas. Moved to Vegas for a few years. It was there I was first able to see how great Meguiars worked on everything from million dollar classics to my Jeep. Since then I have been bit of a fan boy and stick with Meguiars for everything.
Now to today. Back in Kansas and have a different vehicle, a 1999 Chevy Tahoe White 2DR (old body style). I bought this used and wash and wax it with Gold Class regularly. A couple of friends of mine have the same vehicle and we decided it was time to do a serious detail on our vehicles. I am looking to find a good system that will work on all 3 of the vehicles with all 3 different types of people....
My '99 White Tahoe - Great Paint, Minor scratches.
Willing to spend any amount of time needed to make it look great.
A '95 Navy Blue Metallic Tahoe - Good paint, minor rough spots Few rock chips
He is willing to spend a fair amount of time on the paint a couple of times a year but mainly wants a good layer of protection and a nice shine.
A '99 Black Tahoe - Fair paint, several light scratches.
He is a high school kid who has other priorities than car car. Easily distracted and won't devote the time or patience to regularly maintain it.
I have convinced them that we could spend a weekend at work and all of us work on the exterior. Now for the products to use that would work for us all and save us some money buying together.
I have GC shampoo, Soft Suds shampoo, a little bit of Medallion Paint Cleaner (not sure of age), SS Clay kit, An old bottle of Spectra (polish I believe) and a bit of GC liquid wax.
We have access to an orbital buffer that's it. Probably do it all by hand.
I was think of using in order:
GC Wash -> SS Clay -> #80 -> #7 - > NXT 2.0 paste
Does this sound like a good way to go for all three of us based on hand detailing?
Thanks again for all the information (and reading this loooong post)
