  • New Guy on the block from New England

    Hello All.

Up until this point, I did not have a vehicle worthy of this level of detailing. My two 1971 olds cutlass's (convertible driver and hardtop "S" restomod frameoff project) just didn't need anything other than a wash and spray wax, and probably won't for quite a while. (I did use the new NXT 2.0 on the convert and it never looked so Shiney..still a 20 footer though..)

Today, all that changed. After 11 years of hopin' and wishin', I am now the proud owner of a C5 corvette. 2002 black on black, 26k miles, pampered by the previous owner, who of which just drove it into my garage. I am in heaven!!

The paint is excellent but definitely needs the Meguiar's treatment. I will post my questions on another forum as advised. I look forward to the learning process and everyone's input. When I have permission to add attachments, I will ad a pic or two of my baby. 'Till then, keep the shiney side up guys and gals!

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

You'll never get permission to "Attach File", (that's what it's called technically), as we don't allow people to simply attach a photo to their message because is corrupts the database over time and we're in this for hundreds of years, not a few weeks.

Each member of this forum gets free space on our gallery, so resize your photos to 700 pixels or less and then "Upload" them into your gallery. After you upload your pictures you can then "Insert" your image not merely "Attach File"

    Thanks,

Thanks for the info Mike. I'm trying to put a pic under my name, like where your truck and boat pics are, that's all. I'll give it my best shot.

You do that from your Control Panel also called User CP

Look across the top of any forum page for the text links, User CP is the first one starting from the left.

Under Settings Options it will say,

          Edit Avatar

Click on that hand have an Avatar ready to upload, can't be larger than 160 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall

Thanks for the welcome's guys. Much appreciated. Been running around getting the 'vette registered. Killed the day, but I'm almost there. They ran out of veteran plates, so I'm back for a final visit to the dmv tomorrow.

I will try to post some pics later this eve. Thanks for the interest guys.

I did the test of running my hand gently over the paint, and what I though was a nice smooth finish is loaded with contaminants. Looks like i'm going to be busy. Picked up a bunch of McGuiar's products at my local Advanced parts stored. I will elaborate on the appropriate forum. 'till then, i'll work on getting those pics on.

Thanks for the input Mike on how to do the thumbnail on the avatar. I will try that also.

                        Best to all.

Re: New Guy on the block from New England

I'm working on the pics Napper. I have tried every combination with easy thumbnails, but when I try to upload them into my new album, the message is the file is too big (the settings on easy thumbs is 160 x 200) or invalid file, even when i add jpeg at the end of the file name. It's 50/50 with each result. Any input on how to fix this would be appreciated. Running out of ideas.

                          tnx
