  • G'day from 'Down Under'

So I'm finally onto a good thing here with this website and learning so much already!
I love driving and restoring old Alfa Romeo's, preferably red, and it's a real challenge keeping them looking good in our harsh climate down here. Scorching sun and torrential rain take their toll on paint finishes here, with oxidation and clear coat breakdown bring two of the biggest problems to deal with.
Will post pics soon and start a new project hopefully this month

    Best wishes to all!

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

While not really an Alfa fan, I did start out working on Alfa's because our Auto Shop Teacher and the Art Teacher in High School were both Alfa fans and I helped do a lot of the dirty grunt work on a number of restorations, usually scraping original paint off car bodies to prepare them for rust removal and re-painting.

      Re: G'day from 'Down Under'

I'm going to do my 33 boxer near the end of this month. In typical Alfa fashion, the bonnet and the roof are quite oxidised, whilst the remainder of the paint (red) looks good. The car is an '89 model, single stage 'rosso red' paint in fairly good condition. Can anyone give me some advice regarding what steps to take in bringing the paint back?

Please post pistures of your Alfa Romeos. There is a small but fervent Alfa Romeo following in the States. (It looks like Alfas may grace our shores within the next 2 years...fingers crossed)
