Hello everybody,
My name is Michael and I'm a 20 year old hobbyist car guy! My dad used to be a detailer back in the day, and he still continues to take pristine car of all of our cars. I guess you can say he rubbed it off on me!
I never really knew about the 5 step system until finding the Meguiar's website, and I always knew that Meguiar's was one of the best companies out there, but it really wasn't until I tried them that made me become a believer. Here's a picture of my '98 CR-V in January 2006, almost two years after owning it.
My father received a Meguiar's gift pack that had a bunch of stuff in it, but namely the Gold Glass wax. I watched the videos on meguiars.com long enough to run out and get DC Paint Cleaner and Polish. Actually, I guess I took care of my car long enough to grant me a smooth as glass finish before trying the 5 step system!
After doing the 5-step system in the summer of 2007, I became a believer. My car looked much darker, glossier, and it didn't take much to remove all of the light scratches and swirls that I had. Here's another picture from October, 2007 (after getting my windows tinted).
I'm attending college at the University of North Texas (I'm a classical/jazz musician), and unfortunately there's no resources for hand washing, so I had the "luxury" of going to quarter car washes for 8 months, and you can just imagine all of the swirls that developed. At least they're light. Not to mention the blaring Texas sun will literally just melt the wax away after a couple of weeks. It's nice to be home to hand wash, and even better to do the 5 step again this weekend.
Everything kept leading me back to Meguiar's products, and hearing about Tech Wax 2.0 I was really happy to invest in a new wax and start using Meguiar's again. And after reading the article "Driven by Faith," I was even more excited to be using a company that is so heavily based on Christian values that involves God in every aspect of what they do, it's so heavily inspiring and I'm happy to be using a company not only because of the great products, but also because of the great values and beliefs that the company shares.
