  • New member from Minnesota

Hello everyone. I am from Minnesota and I am "Car Crazy". I have been working on my cars since 1970. I was introduced to Meguiar's products in 1978, when the famous John Kosmoski, of House of Kolor, painted a VW Scirocco of mine a black, polyurethane enamel. It had gold leaf pinstripes done by the master himself.

When I picked up my car from House of Kolor, John told me to use Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze to keep the Show Car look he had given me. He also told me to use Meguiar's waxes as they were the best available.

I have been using Meguiar's products ever since. Yes, my head has been swayed by exotic waxes and polishes like the eye of a wandering husband, but I have always returned to Meguiar's for its quality, price and results.

I currently am using Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze, Gold Class wax, #26 carnauba, Gold Class Shampoo and Conditioner, NXT 2.0 Tech Wax, Ultimate Quick Detailer, #'s 80, 82, and 83 polishes, clay bar, leather car and tire shine. There are probably more products, but I am too busy to go in the garage and list everything.

I have two cars that are my pride and joy: A black 2003 modified G35 and a 2007 Fiji Blue Pearl Honda Civic Si.

One more thing, I am good friends with RaskyR1, who in my opinion, is simply one of the best detailers I have ever met. He is not only an expert in what he does and has absolutely stunning results, but he is also my friend. He is a very kind and helpful person who probably spends way too much time on a customer's car for too little money.

    Here are my cars:

This is one of the most recommended products for applying to fresh paint by professional painters like John Kosmoski since the re-finishing industry was born.

I still remember the middle bottle. I used to have one sitting around, but I tossed out all my old bottles awhile back. #7 was and still is the Gold Standard for a show car look on cars with dark colors. On black, it is simply amazing.

                  Welcome to MOL Bill!

                  Thanks for the kind words.

I'd also like to point out that Bills son is going to be one of the all time great detailers and is already at a lever far beyond what I was at his age.

Chad, I don't think I can do enough to tell people about the quality work that you do. I can see from this forum that you are highly respected, as you should be.

I am honored both to have you as my friend and to be a part of a forum with Meguiar's products. Right now, I want to soak in the knowledge and experience that so many people like yourself are sharing here on the forum.

I need to ramp up my own detailing ability from a shade tree detailer to one who can put a professional level shine on a car. I also want to learn more about the polishing phase of detailing and addressing major issues like spiderwebbing, deeper scratches and heavy swirls.
