  • Spring is sprung...detailing season back

I'm barely functioning so far this morning, so please forgive me if this is a rerun.

I'd signed up here after a change to the forum back in December. However, I'm not sure if I posted at all yet. Since we get a lot of snow and cold up here, my old cars, which are what prompted some passion for detailing, were put away for the winter at that time, so it was difficult to really get into a detailing forum.

Anyway, spring is here (even though we still have a bit of the snow that came down on Wed/Thurs). I've had the '41 out for a drive a couple of times.

I look forward to participating here and learning more about taking the paint on my cars to its full potential as best as I can.

    From semi-wintry Winnipeg,
    Derek

Not quite sure it's over yet...possibility of snow exists and there's still a lot of ice around on the lakes... That said, I have had the '41 out three times this year, including today...I drove it to an indoor show with my 8 year old (sadly he was the only one who wanted to come). A big sponsor of the show is a Meguiar's dealer...I was asking him if they carried the Meguiar's machines...sadly no, although he could inquire about a special order. Since ADS and Meguiar's online store won't ship outside the continental US, I'm stuck with just another brand orbital so far. Anyway, he told me to put my name and number on a slip of paper since they were about to do their hourly draw (first one of the day and not too many folks there yet)...my name gets drawn before I walk out of earshot. My door prize was a Meguiar's Gold Class Car Care Kit. I already use the shampoo and QD, so having more isn't bad...I'm also happy to have one of the applicator pads (been using just terry / microfibre to date).

Thanks for the welcome folks. And I love this smiley -
          Derek

Congrats on winning the car care kit. Hope they can take care of you on a good machine.

I hope so too. I have a couple of units of another brand...they do OK for polishing and waxing, but aren't the greatest for stuff like cleaners...that being said, I've improved a couple of cars' paint significantly using them.
