Hi, first I a little about myself: I'm sixteen and my dad and I have been working on my 1949 chevy truck for about 4 years now and are almost finished with it! And I have no clue how to detail it at all!

I have a few questions to start.

First is: What do I need to do for my paint; I haven't done anything for it yet and it is about 6 months old.

Second is a long one: I have American Racing Wheels Torq Thrust II polished aluminum wheels and I was wondering what is safe on them? And what would work well to get rid of brake dust on them. And what do I need to do to keep and maintain them.

    Thanks, Garrett Carter
I look forward to start learning and posting!

As far as the wheels, you could do a few things:

      1. Either the Hot Rims Mag and Aluminum Polish or the Nxt Metal Polish would be good to shine them up of course.

      2. In between that, you could use something like the Aluminum Wheel Cleaner during washes.

        Hey Garrett,

Welcome to MOL! It is great to see a father and son working together. We need more of that in todays world. Do you and your Dad have any pictures of the truck you are working on that you could post here? I'm sure a lot of people here would be interested in seeing them.

        Again, welcome to MOL!
