  • Scratches /Oxidation ????

    Hi all,

I have mild to Medium scratches on my alluminum t-top on my boat. I also have oxidation on my alluminum which is under my clear coat finish. Any help with a product which will help with my problem will be appreciated.....

    Thanks in advance....

First there's this thread that was written to explain a lot of what it means to remove a scratch out of anything...

What it means to remove a scratch out of anything...

    Catchy title huh?

As for specifics, in order to remove actual scratches out of aluminum, if they are deep at all you'll want to consider sanding them out and then removing your sanding marks and then buffing the aluminum back to a high shine. Most people would probably want to live with the scratches as this is a ton of work and will require some special tools and chemicals plus some skill and experience as well as some luck.

As for the oxidation, we have an awesome new Aluminum Polish that works great by hand or machine but if the oxidation is under a clear layer of paint, the only way to remove the oxidation is to first remove the layer of clear paint.

    Kind of a complicated ordeal.

    Pictures of the problems?
