  • Hello from FL!

My name is Mike and I am in the process of starting my new Mobile detail business here in Jacksonville, FL. I have been doing friends and relatives cars for a few years, including daily drivers, a couple collectibles, and a bunch of show cars.

I have been searching different forums for a "start-up" list or package and currently am leaning towards Auto Detailing Solutions start up package, but I was wondering what other products I should add onto this list. Any advice would be much appreciated and I look forward to being a long time member of MOL.

    Welcome to MOL Mike!

You are talking about the Business Start Up package?

If so, first thing I notice is you will want more polishing pads. A clean pad makes all the difference in the world. A few pads per car isn't unreasonable. It all depends too how often you want to clean your pads.

Painters tape in a few different widths is handy to have also.

Thanks Scott for the info. Are there any other products, polishes, waxes, etc that would be good to add to that list? I want to make sure I get what I need in one bulk order to start up. Thanks again everyone!

Another thing I noticed is there is no #80 listed on there. #80 is going to probably be your most used polish.

Really the only LSP in the list is #21, it's a good LSP but maybe you want to pick up some #26 or something carnauba based to try. It just gives a different look then the synthetic products and is cheaper.

Are you going to be using a rotary at all?

I'm trying to walk myself through some details in my head. You seem to have everything you would need. There is always products that are nice to have but you can do without. I don't want to push you too far over budget. Just get one of everything.

Ill be using the G100 included with the package or I may talk to him and see if I can upgrade to a G110 instead. I have 3 or 4 cars to practice and better my technique on. How necessary is the rotary to my arsenal?

                        Re: Hello from FL!

Thanks Victor! Yeah I'm starting to pick things up for the business. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have decided on a van and have it logo'd up and ready for work at the start of next week.

I need to decide on where to get a good industrial/commercial water tank as well, any body in central or northeast FL, maybe even southeast GA thats a good person to talk to about a tank? Thanks again everyone!
