Hello to All,
I am the proud ... owner of the black lexus 460 that Joe at Super Shine featured somewhere else in this forum after he did a great job bringing it back to life. It's amazing to think it was a 2008 model. I love the car but could not believe the scratches and swirl marks I saw when the car was in the sun. . I ran across Joe's website and hired him for a redo. I hadn't had the car for two months and the paint was destroyed. I made the deal with the dealer at night...never thought to check out the condition of the paint. The car was washed religiously at a hand car wash near my work. The guys did a great job. Took their time. I'm sure they along with the dealer destroyed the paint. I also paid for the utimate paint protection plan...from the dealer. The did the detail on Christmas eve 2007. They probably just wanted to get out of there. I would speculate that is where most of the damage/swirl marks were done.
Joe brought the car back. We have five cars in our family. When I was younger I really enjoyed washing/detailing my car. I'm 49. I've decided to commit to taking care of all the cars in the family. My kids are older and getting ready to go off to college...so I will have the time...Saturday and Sunday mornings provided it quits raining/drizzling sometime soon.
Listening to Joe talk about the detail process brought me back 30 plus years and he made me think possibly unintentionaly that I could do this myself. My meeting with Joe reminded me that I used to simply enjoy washing my car.... It was therapy...like reading a book or gardening or tinkering etc....thanks Joe.
Mike Phillips... since Joe detailed my car and turned me on to your site...I have conservately spent $400 on Meguiars products at Autozone and Pep Boys.(Yes, I have lost my mind..and become car detail crazy...) However, in defense of my investment...a wise man told me long ago...that if you are going to take the time to do something...anything...you might as well give 100% and do it right!!!
I am awaiting my PC 7424 in the mail.
The process of taking care of the family cars is exciting to me...to do a good job for my lovely wife, kids and grandma. More importantly...it's great therapy...from the daily stress of my business. It's fun/relaxing for me.
Please drizzle..go away tomorrow so I can clay my daughters car....
I really appreciate the help I have recieved on this forum....It's great...
Tom
