  • Paula M

Hi my name is Paula. I recently bought a new car. I went and bought Meguiars cleaning products as I was told they were the best, but I have a problem. I washed the car with the Gold Class Car Wash, lightly polished it with the Deep Crystal System Polish and waxed it with the Deep Crystal system Carnauba Wax but the car has black plastic strips with a texture in it. The polish has left marks in the plastic. How do I get them out?

The known way that works pretty good is to use some M39 Vinyl Cleaner and a soft bristle nylon brush like a tooth brush to agitate the dried residue.

Lots of people like to tape these trim components off so this won't happen,

    How to tape-off a car

After covering the wheels and tires, start taping-off everything you don't' want to detail later, (Here the word detail means, get the wax out of the cracks, or anything you don't want to get excess product, (splatter), into, such as under grills where the area under the grill is not readily accessible, or you don't want to run the buffer over, like high points, edges and body seams, or even known thin areas.

Another way is to just go slower and be more careful.
