  • Wax selection

In the passed I have used Meguiar's "Gold Class Liquid" on Yellow and Gray color cars and have been completed satisfied with the results, relative the depth and shine. As a gift I received Meguiar's "HI-Tech 26" yellow paste wax and as a result I would like to know which wax to use to produce the best shine and highest gloss finish on yellow and gray color cars.
    Thanks

    Re: Wax selection

Its really hard to say what wax is best for which color, but from the consensus on the forum, it seems as though #26 is best for dark colored cars, not saying that there isn't different products that will do the job though.

Probably the best thing to do is to try different waxes, and see what works for you. I would start out with #21 Synthetic Sealant, which is a very long lasting wax with no cleaning ability, meaning it won't hide swirls. Also give NXT Generation Tech Wax a try, it is probably the best all around wax, meaning good durability and it produces a nice shine. #26 is great also, try some combinations of the three, or even just one...it really depends on how you want your vehicle(s) to look.

    Hope this helps some!!

      Re: Wax selection

I agree with lilblkblt04... its personal preference and/or what looks best in someones eyes.

This may not help but its a good post to look over: What are the differences between Meguiar's waxes?

        Re: Wax selection

You dont mention, but has waxing been your only car step? If so, then using some products to prep the paint beforehand will make a lot bigger difference than what kind of wax you use.

Here are some links for a full detail: (Just replace the DC#3 or Nxt in the thread with your Gold Class or #26)
