I sure like the deep shine on my red convert after a few years of applications of NXT Generation deep gloss. Only one question. How do I remove it in spots to repair rock chips. I know paint will not stick to the Polimers.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Kerm

This can be kind of difficult because in most cases rock chips are small, thus it's hard for you and me to find a tool that will get into the rock chip to agitate the surface in an attempt to remove any built-up wax type products.

Most people will wipe a rock chip area down with some Isopropyl Alcohol and if possible agitate it with a cotton swab like a Q-Tip, again it's hard to find a tool that is small enough to fit into a rock chip, distribute a chemical and agitate the surface.

For the most part however, if you wipe the area down as best as you can, the solvent in the touch-up paint will help to enable the paint components in the touch-up paint to adhere to the underlying surface, whether that be primer or bare metal.

Mineral spirits can also be used, be sure to test any cleaning/stripping chemical in an inconspicuous area first before applying it smack dab in the middle of your hood. (Common sense)

Good luck and how about a before and after picture?

3M makes a fiberglass pen that you use to prep the surface for a rock chip. they sell them at wal-mart for a few dollars. that pen will remove and waxes in the chip.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

How about some Dupont Prepsol with a small soft bristle brush? Let it sit for a couple minutes and wipe dry with an absorbent cotton towel.
