  • Hello from Germany

    Hi everyone!
I just registered for this forum. After reading some very interesting articles, I now have some questions myself.
By the way, to all of you in the U.S.: consider yourselves lucky in terms of Meguiar's products! In Germany, there is only a limited number of products available (no big issue), but those available are quite expensive, about 3 times the US retail price! I hope that the prices will come down as soon as your products become more popular in car crazy Germany.
    Have a good day everybody!

Welcome. My brother was stationed in Germany (Spangdahlem) with the USAF for a few years. From the pictures he has shared, your country is quite beautiful.

Well, I registered here due to the lack of German speaking forums on this subject.
        But you can try
        "Motor Talk": http://www.motor-talk.de/f346/s/
        "AutoExtrem.de": http://www.autoextrem.de/forumdisplay,f-583.htm
or (of course) the German Meguiar's site and the forum there: http://www.meguiars-deutschland.de/forum/

        Viel Spaß!

          Welcome to MOL!

After hearing what others pay for Meguiars outside of the US I feel very lucky paying the prices here in the US and like you mentioned there is a very good selection here. I have been very surprised at the prices even just over the border in Canada.

            On the prices:
Just for your enjoyment, here is a short comparison of a few products.
All prices are official recommended retail prices from the websites.
I already converted the German prices to US$, so no currency difference here.

            NXT Car Wash
            US: 7.59
            Germany: 27.58

            Quik Clay
            US: 10.89
            Germany: 26.32

            Deep Crystal Polish
            US: 5.49
            Germany: 17.55

            NXT Tech Wax
            US: 17.39
            Germany: 32.59

            Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner
            US: 6.49
            Germany: 16.29

            Feeling a little "under-globalized" here.
And I thought shipping things from here to there was so cheap these days...
Anyway, I have just received my first few Meguair's items, so I hope they are worth even the German prices ;-)

Sorry to hear about the extreme differences in pricing. Maybe you need to make a friend in the United States whom will buy and ship Meguiar's products to you.

                  Tungsten,
                  great idea.
Even if I would have to pay customs, I should be better off that way.
A friend of mine is just planning his MBA application to the US.
Maybe I can convice him to send me some things from time to time.
But for now I am settled, after spending around 260 EUR (=326 US$) on Meguiar's stuff.

                    Hi Blockbuster,

The same over here in Belgium, 3 x times more expensive!
Just placed an order @ Autogeek and expecting the goods next week!
Even with transport and customs, still 300$ cheaper. Even included a PC to be hooked up to a 220V-110V converter.

Zum Info. Bin auch viel unterwegs in Deutschland!

                    Mfg,

                    Geert
