  • Save my car!!!

Ok... so I've been researching detailing for about a month now... I made a big mistake.... researching BEFORE buying my car.... I've owned two cars before but they were pretty beat up junkers which no amount of buffing could save (uhm primer showing in areas) ....

BUT! I finally bought a brand new 06 Mustang... black... well equiped... ooo I love the car.... however.... I didn't know much about car care (had a rotary but was worthless so used once or twice) .... I hardly ever even washed my previous two cars... (one rim had HALF a hubcap) ....

So, me being the complete newb I went ahead and bought the magical paint care system from the dealer for a healthy 700 bucks for 3 years... ouch but hey they said it would keep my paint flawless and even remove swirls...

Guess what I got done yesterday? Yup this magical paint care system HOSED my paint.... swirl marks EVERYWHERE.... so... it was time...the only problem now is that I couldn't make up my mind about products and brought several hundred dollars worth of stuff including a Porter Cable.... pads, waxes, polishes, the whole nine....

I think I have two things of wax, that show car polish, swirl remover 2.0, some fine cut polish( all meguiar's products I might add) .... You guys have doomed me into the expensive world of proper car care!!!!

Why didn't you help me sooner before I paid the dealer 700 bucks for a worthless machine scratch-o-matic?? .... my car looks so sad.... the guy asked if I wanted them to redo it, I nearly screamed at him saying that he was crazy if my car was going anywhere near it again.

The last thing I need I think is a water softener... any recommendations? I think I brought one of everything else I could find Meguiar's in the local store LOL ..... I want to cry looking at my car's paint =( .... hopefully the weather gets better and I can tackle swirl removal tomorrow

Trade it in for a brand new one, tell the manager the story and if he doesn't let you get a new one, contact Ford. Same thing happened to my Uncle (Acura though), ended up getting a new one.

Sorry about your car, Mustang are so nice!!!

Wow, your Uncle must be a pro.... they were pushing pretty hard when I just wanted my money back for the service... how long did he have the car when this happened? I've had it a month... a return is doubtful... but I have half a mind of asking them to pay for a complete pro detail from a shop of my choosing. I'm working with them to see what happens... they are very busy with the holiday weekend and all...

I like the car except for the swirl marks on a month old car.

Ohh, thats pretty long. His was next day, bought late at night and didn't notice the "dealer prep work" and took it back next morning. He's a salesmen so he knows how to get what he wants.
