Just new to to the web site and find it facinating. I would never of guessed there would be so many different products to clean a car (detaling is new for me). Just bought a new 2006 Ford Fusion SEL V6. Black car and have since clayed the car and sealed it. It looks awesome. Need advice on a product to protect the carpet from salt stains in the winter. Looking forward to hearing anyones thoughts.

    Hi Fred,

    Welcome to the forum.
I'm a member only for a few days now, but I consider it to be only polite to welcome you anyway. The response here is minimal, considering the 10.000 members this forum has.
Nevertheless I hope you will find what you are looking for.

        to MOL!

As for your question.... Meguiars doesn't make any type of protectant for carpets. There are some out on the market on that comes to mind is made by 3M. I have used such products in the past and have not found them to work all that well.

IMO your best bet is get some rubber floor mats to place over your vehicles carpet. Similar to the one I have in my truck(photo below):

          Carpet protection

I was somewhat expecting the purchase of good rubber mats. We tried the carpet protection on my wife's car from the dealership. (they say her coming) She still gets salt stains and she has the rubber mats and uses towels underneath to absorb the overflow of melted snow. This works well for her. I was hoping for some "MAGIC" spray product. Thanks for reading and posting. I just bought a new 2006 Ford Fusion SEL V6. colour black and absolutely love it. Treated myself for my birthday at the insistance of my family. Always wanted a Mustang, but golf clubs will not fit in the trunk.
