Try using MEG"S #21 synthetic sealant then NXT wax. I"ve owned & detail a lot of Vette's, this combo works very well for me providing the surface is clean.
Originally posted by Robert Knepper I have an 04 corvette, I was told not to use a cleaner type wax on it on a regular basis. What should I be using?
Thanks

Hi Bert,
Welcome to Meguiar's Online!
Too bad the person giving you this advice wasn't a little more specific, their dead-on wrong when it comes to Meguiar's cleaner/waxes as all of our cleaner/waxes are non-abrasive and make excellent maintenance waxes for daily drivers over the service life of any car.
Some people that give advice like you've received could be well-intentioned as in the past there have been other company's, (not Meguiar's), that sold abrasive cleaner/waxes and not only should a product like this be not used on a regular basis, abrasive cleaner/waxes shouldn't be used at all.
So your friend was kind of right and kind of wrong, being more specific would have been helpful but that's what we're here for! You can read through any substantial thread in the The Information Station that isn't filled with detailed, specific hardcore information.
As for recommended waxes for a car in which the clear coat finish is in good to excellent condition, try Meguiar's Gold Class Wax or Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax.
If you have visible swirls and scratches when you inspect your Corvette's finish in bright light like sunlight, then you can either clean the paint using a hand applied paint cleaner like ScratchX or invest in a dual action polisher and remove the swirls by machine.
Hope this helps...
