  • ***Newbie w/ Pics***

Hey all! I'm new to detailing. I never knew cleaning a vehicle could be so involved. Before, I just washed, dried, and squrited some tire shine.

I just bought a brand new 2006 Nissan Frontier NISMO 4x4 a week ago. I also bought a boat load of new products, all Meguiar's of course, especially the NXT Generation line.

Below, I have quite a few pics! The first is all the new products I bought just yesterday. All Meguiar's of course, especially the NXT Generation line. Sorry if the truck doesn't look all that great, but I'm really happy w/ the outcome.

With my truck being so new, I didn't do any paint cleaning/prep. When should I begin to do this? If its not serious enough to clay bar, is there something else I need to do?

Also, is there anything I need to do after washing and drying the truck before I start applying the NXT Tech Wax (which is what I did here)? Do I need a polish?

Personally i would clay the car, to avoid future problems like rail dust. Then I would use a pure polish then NXT tech wax. Hopefully the dealer didn't prep the car for you!

You are going to need another 5 gallon bucket and 2 grit guards if you don't already have them.

    almost forgot

    to MOL
and congrats on the new truck!

What do I need another 5 gallon and grit guard for? Is one for the actual car wash, and the other a rinse of the wash mitt before dipping it in the wash bucket again?

Please check the Detailing 101 forum for my post . Let me know what you think.

yup ones to wring out your mit and the grit guard it to make sure the the mit doesn't pick any of the dirt gets back in the mitt, also you can rub the mitt against the grit guard so it pulls off any dirt. I dont have enough time to read your other post but i will be back in an hour or so.

I actually tried registering there, but its screwed up for some reason. I send e-mails to get it fixed, but to no avail. At least I can still read posts now and then. I'm on clubfrontier.org all the time too.
