  • New here and hooked!

Hey guys! Just found the site after i picked up my black g35. Sure enough, they washed it before they handed over the keys, and the amount of swirl marks and scratches visible is unbelievable. I was livid when i got home and got a chance to really look at it.

Anyway, i've taken some solace in the fact that i can get rid of everything and make it look amazing. I'll be sure to snap some before and after pics to show you guys what they did.

I just bought a bunch of stuff from meguiars' store and was wondering if there was anything else i should get( especially for a black car). I mainly chose stuff from reading the info on the forum ( 5 step carwash) I was surprised to see my checkout total, but i'm sure it's well worth the money. Hell, paid so much for the car, it deserves to look its best hehe. Anyway, here's my list:

    G12664 NXT GENERATION CAR WASH
    G1116 QUIK CLAY DETAILING SYSTEM
    A3016 DEEP CRYSTAL PAINT CLEANER
    G10307 SCRATCH-X

X2020 SUPREME SHINE MICROFIBER (3 PACK)
X2050 ULTRA PLUSH SUPER TERRY TOWEL (2 PACK)
X3050 ULTRA PLUSH CHENILLE WASH PAD
X2000 WATER MAGNET MICROFIBER DRYING TOWEL 22"x30"

Ryan you should plan to visit a meg's class and learn some detail tricks of the trade. We had one recentely in Irvine and it was a blast. I took some pics of the event so check them out. The pics I took clearly show the results of what can be achieved using meg's.......Enjoy

Thanks Ed ( i'm guessing thats your name)

I'm planning on going to one as soon as i can.

Hows the 350 treating you, it looks clean! it was my second choice, but i knew i'd go overboard with it. So i went with the G hoping to keep it as is and get out of the scene, but it's becoming real hard not to spend money on it hehe.

I remember one of your posts mentioning a class in june, i'm guessing it's for nissans and was wondering if an infiniti can tag along, after all we are brothers

      Ryan

p.s. why are we up so late lol

Ryan let me see what I can do and maybe you can sign up. Are you on the G forums if not check out g35driver and my350z.com where I am at. We have alot of g35 guys on the Z site. I would also reply to the thread for the June class and see if they allow you to attend. The Z is well treating me good and no major problems at all. When I got the Z I told the STEALERSHIP not to wax or wash her just bring her up and I will take care of the wash. My salesmen looked at me weird and told me it was very dusty and had been sitting in the back for a few weeks. I still refused them to send it back to have those dirty shop towel run all over my car. I told him either leave it the way it is or I'll go somewhere else. The bad thing about the car I got is that was the ONLY one I could find in that color and it had the front bumper drilled for a plate holder.........Needless to say I still took her home even though it had the god awfull front plate bracket.

        Post pics of that g35

Sounds good. I've been trolling G35driver for the past few months, just never registered or posted. I'll be sure sign up for my350z as well.

The night I made the deal for my car, I told the damn salesman. "DO NOT DRILL MY FRONT BUMPER". he said he didn't think that they would but it was CA law that they do. (thats why i see every other G without one, especially my manager who bought his at the same place ). He even brought me to the nissan lot across the way to show me my car that i would pick up the next day after they PDI'd it. Still had the blue tape everywhere and a nice clean undrilled bumper. Annnnnd..... i received my car the next day with a dealer plate drilled into it. I was going to complain, but he just kept talking about the law. I figured I would get it patched at a shop. I was quoted 250 from bumpermedic.com so i still have some shopping around to do.

I'll post up some pictures tomorrow after work.

I hear you when I got the Z it still had the white covers all over it from the shipping truck so yes it was really dirty. I remember every one at the dealer was looking at me like I was crazy actually peeling that stuff off myself.
