  • i'm a newbie after a super finish

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey fellas, I'm David how are you guys doing? Good hopefully. Well, Im a young guy interested in achieveing a 10 feet deep paint job????? hmmm pretty simple to say; but fairly hard to achive.

I currently work as a custom painter at a shop by the name of streamline autoworks. I used to work for a few high named custom paint shops in AZ; and a few very talented airbrush and pinstriping artists. I gathered a well rounded style of painting of my own and won a few local shows with my paints. I know how to spray just about every type of paint and color. I can color sand a finish until it is flat as a mirror with several blocks and different ways; but I need to achive the final frontier the (DEEPEST GLOSS) possible.

I thought I knew how to do killer finishes but after reading the posts here I was taken to school. You know I only knew about 3M's way of doing things. I have no idea of what you guys are taking about and how you guys achive a deep gloss. It's amazing to see a wet good paint job like the high dollar paint jobs at the Riddler Awards. Well guys, I'm looking forward to learning from you guys and if I can help in anything, post me up Im glad to help.

Well, first thing is a little reading material.. if you havent checked these out yet, be sure to read them over and understand them.

I am sure they will answer a few of your basic questions, and open up some new ones....

    Step 2 Clean

    Step 3 Polish

    Step 4 Protect

    Step 5 Maintain

Of course there is much much more... but start understanding these things, and you will be ahead of 90% of the people out there, if not more.

      to MOL jrmintt1!

You’ve hit the jackpot here. You’re both in for a treat and probably a very profitable adventure.

A deep, wet gloss is something everybody wants but it’s amazing how many painters that do know how to lay down a finish properly don’t have a clue how to massage it to perfection. By learning to take your polishing to a new level you’ll put yourself way ahead of the competition and I’m sure there’ll be a huge demand for your work.
