why is it that when i view new posts for the 1st time each day, i get about 2 pages worth, ill read several of them, then view other areas of the site, yet when i click view new posts again (might be a few minutes later) only a couple posts show up?

Well, it will remove all the posts you've read the first time around from the "View New Posts" the next time you check it...
Not sure about if posts you haven't read yet, disappear, but I never have the same problem.-Dennis/FromThisSoil
