  • If you were to attend a detailing clinic, what would you like to learn about?

We're looking for input on what sort of topics you would be interested in hearing about if you were to attend a detailing seminar. Specifically, we're talking about the Mobile Tech Expo and some seminars we've been invited to conduct. While we have several different programs put together already we'd like some feedback from all of you - if you were to attend such an event, what topics would be of interest to you? Things like
    • Proper use of a DA buffer
    • Proper use of a rotary buffer
    • DA Microfiber Correction System
    • Interior cleaning
    • Engine cleaning
    • Paint evaluation
are all fairly common topics. So let's hear it, what would you be interested in hearing about? Anything related to detailing goes, nothing is a dumb request. No guarantees we'll do a session on your topic, but we'd like to know what interests you.

I would like to see an A to Z description of the full detail process in sequential order.

Mike, we were pleased to host a two day Meguiar's seminar, presented by Mike Phillips, a few years ago (June, 2007).
By all accounts it was a tremendous success.
Please consider this an open invitation to visit our facility in Indianapolis should your future plans include "Roadshows" in the Midwest.

I give another vote for Greg's ideas. I would also like to learn how to use a rotary.

                    Perhaps every month or two, throw in a "special topic", like these;
-one just for paint, evalaution-washing-wet sanding-polishing-sealing-waxing all with the da
-one for chassis-engine-exterior trim, headlights, wheels & tires, cleaning, protecting & dressing
-one for interior, carpet, dashboards, vinyl-cloth & leather, convertible tops & glass/plastic
-maybe just before the season starts, a special clinic for boats and/or motorcycles

With so many products, this would allow the explanation of the products and the proper use. It would be nice to have the proiducts available for sale as well.

                    Just my 2 cents....

                      Paint evaluation

single stage paint/ OEM clear coat/ after market sealers, when to just let the scratch stay where it is and why, clear coat failure- what did we do wrong or crappy OEM paint process, why we need to use a more aggressive clay bar- benefit/hazard, + other issues that we are not thinking about.

What about undercarriage care. You know beyond the wheel wells.

While I understand that flat panels are great for testing and showing proper technique, I've seen requests on various forums from users wanting to know how we tackle really curved panels and the hard to reach areas like those found on the front and rear bumper panels...especially with a rotary. I think this would be helpful for a lot of the class attendees.
