      But...
Try typing in the full product part number, such as M8032 (32 ounce M80) or M8001 (1 gallon M80) and it will come up. The search function is database driven so it only returns exact entries as found in the database.

So, the only way to search for something is to know exactly what you’re searching for before you search for it.

        That’s useful.

Not necessarily. That was more in response to searching by product part number when you know what you want but don't want to drill through the various sections to get it. You want a quart of M80? Type in M8032 and you're done. But you could type in "speed glaze" and get the same thing. Typing in "dual action" brings up not only M83 but also the G110 dual action polisher and the backing plate for it. Looking for something to dress your tires with? Type in "tire" and you get the full mix of tire care products, both Hot Shine and NXT.

            Michael-
The site is good and the search is good. The fact that a direct match for a product number delivers you directly to the relevant page is great.

However, I think one suggestion to make search better/more relevant to MOL members is to add the common shorthand that is used on MOL as additional search terms.

For example: A user enters the term "D151". Since that's what MOL members refer to it as shouldn't they get a result for it?

            Whatdya think?

Rob, I couldn't agree more. We're still working on some final tweaking and adjustments and all the feedback we're getting here helps immensely. Keep the suggestions coming in!

                Michael,
There are too many companies that don't engage the customer and listen. On top of all that Megs even offers a forum/BB!

                Thanks for listening!

But type in either 80 or M80 and you get zip, nada, nothing.

Unless you happen to already know it comes in 32 ounce and 1 gallon sizes and that the part numbering nomenclature is family-product-size and that it’s 1 gallon, not 128 ounces or that it’s called “Speed Glaze” the search won’t get you anywhere.

It doesn’t help if you know it’s a cleaner/polish either. Type in cleaner, polish, cleaner polish, cleaner-polish or cleaner/polish and you get all sorts of stuff other than M80xx Speed Glaze.

You have to already know the name (speed, glaze or speed glaze all work) or the full SKU#.

As Rob points out, the search should work when you type in the terms that people commonly use for products. They do put those numbers in big print on the bottles (without the leading family code and trailing size code) and people do go by them.

For it to be a useful search, I would expect typing in 80 would come back with M8032, M8001, XYZ80000#$@^% and any other product with 80 somewhere in it.

It would also be really helpful if the products under the Pro/Mirror Glaze heading were broken out by function, not just family.

Uhm...Not sure if some of the prices are right on the pages...

I just went to look at the NXT car wash, and the 18 oz bottle says, "$7.99". The 64 oz. bottle says, "$6.99." Is that right, or a typo? I'd think that MORE product would be slightly more expensive than less, unless you're giving some sort of volume discount...

Fortunately, like most databases, it takes a wild card character. Use the asterisk (*) and you will get what you are looking for.

Type in m80* or m03* and you get those products; Speed Glaze and Machine Glaze. M8* brings up everything in the 80 series of products.

I love the new site. However, one thing I went to look for was not there. I had previously had multiple shopping carts saved on my account. I just went in to pull them up and order it (since I needed time before I could actually have it ordered) and I saw the new site. But how do I retrieve my saved shopping carts. Is it possible? It's not that big of a deal since I know most of what I had on there but I just wanted to know if that feature still exists. I just cant seem to find it anywhere.

Great news - you can now search with terms like "80" or "M80" and find what you're looking for.

Hi my name is Josh and I am new to this..I recently bought the Meguiar's Dual Polisher. However made the mistake of not buying the soft buff pads. So as soon as possible I am going to order some on the website unless there is a cheaper place to get them? Couple other questions I have if ya dont mind. Which pads should I buy? Polishing or finishing?? And last but not least, how would I obtain the 10% discount code?? Sorry im a little pressured for time, so cant do much research but thanks in advance guys!
