  • Tire Dressing Mats

This is something that I thought would be nice to have instead of having to find other things around the house to use or just having to deal with the marks. My idea that would be something great to have would be some sort of thin plastic material sheet that could be placed on the ground and sort of fit around your tire snug and would protect your concrete driveway or garage floor from all those left over chemical marks left when you use a spray tire dressing. I have this happen all the time when I spray it on the portion of the tire which is actually touching the ground, there is a nice wet mark left on the floor and sometimes it seems to stain the area and you can't get rid of it. With this product you would simply just lay the plasitc sheet down around your tire, spray and then move it to the next tire. Clean up would be easy with it being plastic with just having to wipe it clean with a simple cleaning product. I just think this would be great because I know when it rains on my driveway I can really see those marks come out on where i detailed the tires.

Funny, my son did that to my concrete drive years ago and the marks are still visible.

But I have read that using spray cleaner on the drive right after spraying the tires gets rid of it.

Your idea is good and something I have thought about finding. But instead I have ordered Endurance Tire Gel. Now if I can find those new GC tire dressing pads I'll be set. No more spraying.

I see the same... but my driveway's so full of those marks by now that it isn't worth bothering to protect it

not to mention the half bottle of pewter metallic touch up paint that I spilled on the driveway when my creeper seat fell over from rolling on a crack....

Why not do what I do... cut out a piece of cardboard from a box to fit around the tire, sort of a squared C shape. When it gets too cruddy just make a new one. Simple!

Yeah..even if there was a mat to buy, it would only last a couple uses... Newspaper is even easier.

^^ True but then you always have to make sure you have those items on hand and for someone who says doesn't subscribe to the paper or doesn't have cardboard just laying around....a plastic mat that you can use over and over again woudl be much easier and cleaner.

but then you'd have to clean the mat and probably want to detail it ....I use paper towels...soaks up the excess quickly and I remove them as soon as I'm done with the tire...
