  • Meguiars Detailing Brushes

Meguiars should make a new line of detailing brushes like the old ones, or just bring the old ones back ( even if its limited production for like a month ) .
I know there were shipping issues before with the size of some of the brushes but the smaller ones like the "Slide and Lock detail brushes" should be fine, shouldn't they?
I really wanted to try the slide and lock boars hair brush and its ****s that I cant buy them anywhere.

Well, you can always buy a good quality paint brush....

But yes, maybe a little less plastic or something to cut some costs. They were great, but far over-designed compared to any competitor.

They should do a limited time production on them to see how they sell, and then go form there

You had your chance, they were available for a limited time ;-)

The consensus seems to be that people loved the brushes and they'd like to seem them offered again.

Perhaps understanding the root of the issue, would help us focus our conversation. Why did Meguiar's discontinue them? Can someone from Meguiar's comment, rather than having us speculate.

Well, I would say the Meguiars body/wheel ones were $10-$15, compared to $4-$7 for Mothers, etc. Nothing drastic for me, but looks like a lot in Walmart or Target to regular people.

I still have 3 or 4 of the brushes...Don't know what I will do when they finally die.

I think from Meguia's standpoint they have to have a good business reason to make the investment in bringing back the line...e.g. need to appeal to enough folks so they can make some money on them

I'm sure most people on this forum including my self would buy the brushes if they came back

Unfortunately, with the size of Meguiars/3M, if 30,000 or so people buy a brush or two, you'll probably be out of business. But they were great, and were sold for a bit longer, if not still, over in Europe. Must have been more popular there.

+1 I never got a chance to try them, but would ABSOLUTELY try them out if available!

The gold class accessories are indeed GOLD. I love them and I've been using the tire brush since the day they were introduced (along with some of the other accessories) and it still performs and functions just like the day I got it. Unfortunately, I can see why they were discontinued. When you have super retailers like walmart and target (same thing with AZ, etc.) who sell their branded accessories for pretty cheap, it's hard to compete with them when they (average consumer) can buy a brush (or whatever else) for a few dollars.

Perhaps the retail business model doesn't work for the brushes, but the same can be said for the Professional and Detailer line of products. With Meguiar's having an online distribution channel, perhaps it could work today. Let's hope they bring them back.
