Re: License Plate Frames
Yeah, what's up with no frames? That makes absolutely no sense. I'm pretty sure the black tinted ones are illegal but not frames. Weird. Jeez, it's hard to buy a car these days without the dealer putting a sticker or frame on a car.

Re: License Plate Frames
yup plate frames/covers are illegal in jersey and ny, reason being, most plate frames cover the state name on the top or bottom..
so even a dealer installed plate frame can have u pulled over, and ticketed...it was actually on the news a few months ago in ny about it...

Re: License Plate Frames
New York State CAN have license plate frames.
However, the old style frames covered "New York" and "The Empire State" lettering. Those were outlawed.
New styles, which are legal, have smaller company lettering, top and bottom, and leave the state logos visible.
The covers are illegal, as is having one plate (in NY). I just received a parking ticket in front of my house at 0245hrs for having one plate. Never mind the fact my front bumper is damaged, and the plate is almost ripped in half, so I removed it.
