  • Wash sponge/mitt with hose attachment

I'd like a wash sponge (probably covered in something gentle, such as MF etc), which has an attachment for a hose, like a car brush. Now, since we have water restrictions where I am, I'd probably connect this up to a pressure sprayer which could supply a low pressure steady stream of water or a wash solution. (recently I've been using a variation of the "rinsless wash" technique - I pre-mist the car down with a waterless wash solution, and then wash/rinse the car with a wash mitt, using plain water. It's at this stage that I'd like to have the wash implement connected up to something, to eliminate all the dunking)

Regarding the sprayer, there's a couple of options that I'm aware of for that, one has a hand operated pump, the other is powered off the car battery. Because only a low flow of water is required, I think either type would be suitable for this purpose.

Of course, a mains-power operated pressure washer could also be used, however where I am they're not currently allowed to be connected up to a tap (due to the water restrictions) - they have to be fed from a bucket. Some of them are capable of being bucket-fed, however it's very fiddly. The two sprayers I mentioned in my previous post can be filled from a tap, which is convenient - they have their own water storage containers.

In any case, I think even without water restrictions such a wash sponge might be useful - why should the idea be limited to the old fashioned car brushes?

Just an update: I had no idea of the range of attachments available for pressure washers. Whilst I haven't found something which exactly fits my requirements yet, I can get very very close, and I'm probably better off talking to the pressure washer folks - it's more their line of business than it is Meguiars.
