This may be a pipe dream....or I should say it probably is a pipe dream.
How about a product that you could paint on trim instead of taping it off? I spend a lot of time taping and could work much faster if a paint on protectant was made. Think rubber cement type application. You would basically apply the product with a brush applicator like just like rubber cement. When you are done you would simply peal off the layer. The issues I see would include:
1. It would need to be quick drying. If it had a long dry time it would defeat the purpose.
2. It would need to hold up to the heat a rotary or PC would create without pealing or gumming up the pad if they came in contact.
3. It would need to be easily removed in one pull much like tape regardless of what it was applied to. Plastic, rubber, etc.
4. It would need to be sticky enough to adhear but not so sticky it injured the rubber or plastic it was applied to.
Like I said, I assume it's beyond current technology. But it sure would be a great addition to the detailer line! Any ideas or comments?
