  • nxt wash measuring cap.

I used the nxt wash today for the first time.It did a nice job.I thought that a 1 ounce cap would be a good idea. I would like to see a spell checker for the forums, not sure if that is hard to do, I am really giving my dictionary a workout guess I shouldn't complain, it's good for me.

        From our Moderator Rockpick,

There is a handy little add on utility for IE that's called IESPELL. In short, it's a spell checker that is absolutely AWESOME and VERY easy to use. I might also add that it's FREE!

        Check it out!

Once you get it installed, you'll need to close all of your IE windows and reopen. From there, once you type text into an 'entry field' of sorts on the internet (ie: message board text entry etc...), you can right click within the field and you'll see an option called 'SPELL CHECK'. Choose that option and it'll check the field in which you've entered the text and offer suggestions for misspelled words; much like WORD does when you spell check.

Naturally, as moderators, we all want to be as professional and proper as possible while/when we're posting. This is a VERY simple way to avoid the common spelling mistakes that we all make.

        Check it out!

I too have Firefox, but for somereason, I keep using IE.

rjstaaf introduced me to it while he was out here. I really like the tab option.

A cap designed to hold 1 ounce would be great! I tried to use a measuring spoon, but it was a pain and had to wipe the soap out and then figure out where to set the spoon.

I have an old bottle (Maroon bottle) of wash/conditioner and it states something like 4 capfuls to 1 gallon. I haven't measured out how many capfuls equal 1 ounce with the NXT cap.

I tried the one-thousand-one count when pouring as some people have stated, but it certainly looked like *much more* wash was dumped in the bucket than when measuring it out.

Regarding the spell checker, as with bchivers, I don't use IE as a browser so no go here either. I do what Mike does most of the time and run it through a word processor to do a spell check and then re-paste before posting.
A great finish begins with the right start!

For the 16 ounce car wash bottle that all use a fairly standard cap, 2-3 capfulls equaled 1 ounce. This was taking into consideration that some product clinged to the cap and thus skewed the measuring.

It is important to use the correct amount.

I guess all we need to do is to measure out one ounce with the product? I'll guess looking at the cap that it's going to be 2-3 capfulls though.

                  Mike,

It's really not much trouble to measure out several capfuls, but the cap is shallow and it's sort of a nuisance. Thanks for stating your "measurements" also take into account the amount of product that may cling to the inside of the cap. NXT wash is so thick and I always wonder if I'm really getting the full one-ounce, thus my comment about wiping it out of the measuring spoon I use.

You may want to forward this to your marketing group for future product packaging consideration.

Just some customer feedback. Anything to save time and inconvenience!

I use two 5 gallon buckets. I got them at Home Depot and they are the semi-transparent white ones so you can see the level of the water they contain. I measured out the level at two gallons and marked it with a permanent marker on the outside of the buckets. I always wash with two gallons.

For the wash, I have a small plastic measuring cup and just pour in two ounces.

There are some products that have bottles that help you dispense the contents. Some examples I have are in the photo below. I think bottles that have this measured fill built in would be a nice touch to the wash product line. Mike, you might want to show this to your engineering folks.

I think the ideal solution would be the hand pumps that come with the dillutible products from the detailer line of Meguiars products. One pump dispenses 1oz of product. I checked and the gallon containers have the same cap size as the NXT wash bottle so I don't see any reason why the hand pump wouldn't fit on the NXT wash bottle.

                        Now that's a great idea!

Anyone know if you can purchase just the pump from Meguiar's?

I may go to HD or Lowe's and see if I can find something like that!

Even better than a one-ounce sized cap!

Would be nice to have a cap that measures... I went to walmart and bought a plastic measuring cup just for car wash soap!

You can't right now but, they are working on it. The pumps I believe are new and I believe the stock of them they have are packaged with the products that are dillutible so it is probably just a matter of getting enough so that they can still package them with the products they go with yet still have enough to sell individually.

                              Re: nxt wash measuring cap.

Sorry for bringing up this old thread, but is there any news on buying the pumps separately? I have one pump, and use it on my shampoo plus bottle, very usefull. I would like to get a few more, for my other bottles as well.
                              Thanks
