  • Clay Bar Pack

Maybe have a pack of 3 or 5 claybars without a lubricant for like $10. I feel lot of us detailers already have QD but hate buying a whole new 1 bar for $10 when it seems most of the money pays for the QD. And I can't even find the $10 clay bar set anywhere (except online) just the new $16 set.

And this would take the guilt out of dropping a single clay bar you just paid $10 for and having to throw it away.

You would probably want to consider purchasing the Professional Mild Detailers Clay.

    Professional Detailing Clay-Mild

And dont forget to cut the clay bar from the Smooth Surface Kit into 3 or 4 pieces before using it.

Similarly, the Mild Clay comes as one big chunk, so definately cut it up into several pieces. I am not sure how many smaller pieces people usualy get out of it.

I can easily get 4 usable pieces and one time cut it into 5.

Really? Granted I have a new (well 1 yr now) car, so I dont end up needeing to use as much clay each time, but I can cut the Smooth Surface Clay/Quick Clay kit into 4 poeces.

I guess I thought the Detailer Clay might get into 6 or 7 pieces.

I guess it just depends on how much clay you need for the job you are workig on. I have the Mild clay and I have got 4 or 5 pieces out of it so far, and I could probably get 2 more out of what i have left. I only cut off what I need.

Well the last two times I bought the Pro clay I was using it on a car that hadn't been cleaned in a while, so I cut them into bigger pieces. I just recently got the Smooth Surface clay kit and cut them into 4 pieces because I was using them on newer cars. I probably could get 6 or more pieces out of the Pro clay, but I haven't tried yet.

Quick Clay has one 100g bar, Smooth Surface has two 50g bars (100g total), and Detailer Clay has one 200g bar. I don't think you're really saving money with the Detailer Clay since it's suggested retail price is 27.99.

A local detail shop carries the Detailer Clay for $22.99 (for the Mild, Aggressive is a couple bucks more). If you don't want a new bottle of QD, cleaner wax and a Supreme Shine everytime you need clay, the Detailer Clay is a great option.
