  • High grade carnauba - not only for classic cars

Many customers swear on high-grade Carnaubas with a more largely portion of pure Carnauba than 50%, as e.g. Zymöl wax.

Link to commercial website removed. -Mike

Meguiar's does not have anything comparable - would be beautiful if Meg's drew even here at a bearable price.

    I would take one

Well truth be told, if making a wax with more Carnauba was a good thing, our chemists would have already done this, but they haven't and there's a reason for it.

Basing a wax on only one ingredient means you only get the benefits and features of the single ingredient, instead of doing this our chemists blend multiple ingredients together so that you, the customer, get the benefits and features of multiple ingredients.

I would put M26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax, (A blended wax), up against anything Zymol makes on the truest test of all, a black paint job.

As for the link to the video you've included, that goes to a commercial website, so I've removed it. The video and the guy doing the work has floated around all over the Internet and there's already a number of threads on this forum that discuss this guy and his prices as well as his technique. If you want to discuss him then post your comments to those threads. Look in the Breakroom, forum I think you'll find them in there.

I'm sorry about the link, but i have not seen that link as a commercial link for the produkt but rather as report on high-grade carnaubas.

My advice should not be a suggestion for the improvement of a car wax, but maybe a suggestion to increase the turnover and earnings of Meguiar's.

I think it's undoubted that there is a special customer group, which prefers high-grade carnaubas - straight if these are to have for an acceptable price.

I'll pass the link to this onto Marketing as you are right, there is a demographic group that purchases their products based upon perception, as in the more it costs, the better it must be and this is true to a degree, but a lot of people think Zymol has taken it to the extreme side of perception.

I would still stand by putting M26 up against anything by Zymol on black paint. The products either work or they don't and when it comes to making black paint as clear, and dark as possible, it's pretty hard to beat M26, or even Gold Class Wax.

In Germany there is a lot of car-enthusiasts, that looks for alternatives for high-grade carnaubas, due to the high prices.

Some of them manufactures themselves their waxes with a high contend of Carnauba - with much effort, but with very good success and for less money.

Have found this forum (unfortunately only in German language): ww.auto-treff.com/bmw/vb/showthread.php?threadid=154274

The idea is, to take the troubles away from these people, by giving them the wax they are searching for. Whereas the most important factors are high contend of Carnauba and a low price.

Have you ever tried the M26 wax?

I'm not sure what it costs in your location or how available it is, but compared to boutique waxes in the same category here in the U.S. it is very affordable and will work as well or out perform the competition.

                @Mike

I have tried Meg's M16, M21, NXT, NXT-Paste, 3M #09377 Finishing Glaze, Sonax Xtreme Wax and many others but not the Meg's M26 and also not Zymöl produkts. Isn't M26 similarly as the M16?

But I think the people, in the forum which I posted above, believes that the more highly concentration of carnauba, brings longer durability.
I don't no if they are right, but the money they pay to zymöl or swissöl could also be paid to Meg's.

I agree, in fact I just posted something similar to this about 5 minutes ago in another post before seeing this one.

#26 is one of my favorite products. Its even better, IMO, than P21S carnuba wax, which is highly regarded on other forums. The P21S cost $35, and my jar of M26 was about $12. So for 1/3 of the price, you get what I believe to be a better product. Lots of people don't want to see that, though. First of all, they don't want to believe that something that anybody can buy at AutoZone can beat their boutique stuff, and second, they want to justify their purchase.

I think the main groups of car waxes are:

                    a) pure carnaubas
                    b) synthetic waxes and
                    c) blended waxes.

Meguiar's manufactures waxes which belongs to group b) and c).

I think that it's undoubted, that there is a special customer group for pure caranaubas.

The idea is, that Meguiar's could generate an additional profit by this special customer group.

I don't think that the business policy of Meguiar's is so, that thereby a boutique wax for exorbitant prices would be created. I think we rather would see a Meguiar's wax, that among the classical products ranks and looks for its-same.

I've tried already many waxes and also pure carnaubas - but that's not the theme.

Hope it's now on the right way

No I haven't, it is very expensive here in Germany - it costs approximately 93 $.

Is the M26 as much better than the #21, that it is worth the 93 bucks?

That's crazy. #26 is a nice wax, but not worth $93.

                          Hey Harald.
Where did you want to buy the #26?? 93$?? Wow, thats really expensive!!
I found a shop (here in Germany) where 1 gallone #26 costs about 68$. The 16oz costs about 32$.
Somebody told me that it would produce a little more wetlook than NXT but NXT would bring a deeper shine.

I have used pure carnuabas, and I much prefer #26! The durability of #26 is understated IMHO, and the looks speak for themselves. When I had my black WS6 TA, I was a diehard MPPP user, then NXT. But I have to say I did try a panel with #20 topped with #26 and it looked just as good if not better, than the newer synthetics.

When I think of carnauba, I still think of #26 first.

I was looking for something amongst all my detailing products and stumbled upon a bottle of #26. There are some GTO owners who swear by it and say it gives the best results. I'll have to get reacquainted with it just to see how it looks. I am very happy with the NXT/#21 combination though.
