I like Tide and Woolite n all but extra rinses take time and more water, it'd be nice to throw in microfibers, terry cloths, etc and not worry about running it through the rinse cycle a few times to remove any excess detergent. Same for hand washing, with tide and woolite you'd have to keep rinsing and squeeze out the remaining product frequently cuz it foams like no other and is absorbed into the towels. It'll rinse the detergent off quicker. Yeah something like super soap for laundry, meguiar's should do this. lol

If you are using detergent properly you won't need extra rinses. people have a tendency to use too much. Whatever the detergent label instructions say, use half that amount. Don't use a whole cup for a quarter or half load of towels!
Believe it or not the equivalent of a teaspoon of liquid detergent per towel in hot water is more than enough!
Woolite is for delicate fabrics which your detailing towels are not. I like Era.
Use a tablespoon or distilled white vinegar per towel in the final rinse, this will help the fibers release any excess detergent.Leo

Hey I use barely any detergent. Maybe 1/8 - 1/4 cupful for a full load, cuz I find that that's enough to remove the stains and clean them well. And I do use distilled white vinegar in the rinse cycle. I'm just saying, wouldn't it be cool to not have to use vinegar and an extra rinse cycle? Take less time, and less water, and no vinegar needed.

I think it's cuz my washing machine ***** and doesn't drain and rinse very well. Cuz the water still has suds and isn't close to clear during the final rinse. Like it's a washing machine, you should be able to have whatever your washing go through one cycle and it be clean and rinsed free off detergent, I have to have it go through an extra 1 or 2 rinses which I don't think is normal.

It'll help rinsing after hand washing
And the washing machine isn't defective, we've had it fixed a few times in the past. It's a kenmore that we got 4 years ago. I think the problem is my mom used cupfuls of detergent in her loads. So I just run a rinse through before I do mine and it only takes an extra rinse to fully remove all detergent. But I'm saying that a laundry detergent, that'll remove stains and work well on cleaning the towels in the first cycle, then once it starts to rinse it'll remove most of the detergent so I only have to run it through 2 cycles instead of 3, decreasing the amount of time, and water.Last edited by F-150; May 29, 2006, 10:03 AM.
