  • Trouble with Duo-Fiber Glass Towel

I bought a Duo-Fiber Glass Towel and it worked great when I first used it. But then I washed it and now it leaves lint all over my glass.

I washed it with my regular laundry, thinking that since it is a cotton blend it should not be washed with my microfiber detailing cloths.

How should I have washed it? Is there any way to fix it? I tried using a lint roller on it, with no improvement.

I've had mine for a while and from the start, had the same problem. It's a real shame because it cleans wonderfully just at the cost of a huge amount of lint all over the glass. Following with a low nap, "traditional" MF can help but it's an unwanted additional step.

Agreed, my first one was fine, but the second made my windows look like they were covered in glitter. I washed the towel seperately SEVERAL times and it still linted horribly. My first towel had the edge fall off after a few washes, but no lint. They both went in the trash.

I have one that lints too. It leaves very fine lint particles that are VERY hard to get off the glass. This towel came apart in a front loading Maytag Neptune washing machine which are pretty gentle. The hem separated from the cloth and lots of threads seem to have come unraveled. Not sure I consider this the best choice for glass. I get better results from a regular MF towel.

Okay, I did some e-mailing around and found that we've had a few people bring this issue up of linting up and we're actively looking into it. If you have any concerns at all with one of our towels, then definitely call Customer Care Hotline.

On a related note, I have not had any problem with the ones I have at home, or the ones we use at the Meguiar's Training Garage?

Be assured, we appreciate this kind of feedback as it helps us to make corrections and constantly be looking for ways to improve our products as well as our service.

That's good to know Mike. Sometimes things just need a little tweaking and then they turn out just fine.

I have the same lint, which is super hard to remove. It's very annoying.

I have to chime in as well,
I have two of them and after washing them, they do lint up on the windows.

I have 3 of these towels, washed once and two started to come apart. I washed them in the machine with woolite, and no other towels in the load. The second use they are not leaving any lint, but they are really looking bad. Have been using my regular Meguair's microfiber towels since with much better results.

I wish I saw this post before purchasing the Duo-fiber towel, as the two I purchased leave lint on the glass. I will call 1-800 customer service number soon. Any idea when the linting problem will be solved? What is causing the lint problem?

I am sure Meguiars find a solution to the problem as Meguiars produces high quality products.

This is sad to hear. I really liked the Duo-Fiber glass towels when I tried them at the Fun Day. I was about to purchase some but I think I will wait until the linting issue is resolved.

I can't remember ever having linting issues with MF towels. I always do a seperate load just with MF's and never use any fabric softener. Has anyone tried Micro-Restore? I wonder if it really makes any difference.
