Novice trying to remove key scratches

I am a complete novice, learning how to remove scratches via youtube.

I have a Fiat 500x midnight blue with many, many key scratches (made by a child). Most of them appear clear coat scratches. I attempted to move the scratches with the with wet sandpaper starting with 2000 grit and ending with 10,000. I followed this with Meguairs Ultimate Compound then 205. I still have a great deal of haze. Was I too aggressive? Is there a way to bring the shine back?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like there are still sanding marks remaining. I am assuming you are doing this by hand since you did not mention a machine. It is likely going to require a machine, like a dual action polisher, with an aggressive cutting pad, like our D/A Microfiber Cutting Disc, and a professional compound, like our M100 Pro Speed Compound. Even at this it may take multiple passes.

I am doing the wet sandpaper by hand, but the compound and glaze using a attachment to a drill, and also a car polisher with the 10" buffing pad.

Which microfiber cutting disc should I purchase for the M100 Compound? The ones I found say they are for use with M300.

You can use the DMFC3 with any quality da compound.

Some of the scratches have been painted over with blue nail polish and I will need to be more aggressive I think. I have purchased many items based and tried many solutions. My question is - in what order do I use them? I have the Meguairs M100 and DMX6 microfiber pad, Meguairs M20508, Meguairs Ultra Compound, sanding disks for a drill in 1000 to 10,000 grit, wet sanding sheets in 1000 to 7000 grit, the different color buffing pads for a drill, the different color buffing pads for a DA, and an ENEACRO DA polisher. I also have a small primer/paint/clear coat kit in the correct color. Please let me know what products/items to use IN WHAT ORDER. I still need help!

First, we would not recommend sanding with a drill! Washing & drying, then using a clay bar on the paint, would be first. From there, if you feel there is sanding needed, this is when you would perform. We typically do not recommend using anything beyond 3000 Grit Foam Finishing Disc! From there compound would be used to remove the sanding marks. Polish would be used to further refine the paint, remove any marks from the compound step, and further improve the look of the paint.

Please note that sanding results substantial removal of clear-coat, so being a novice you should be aware about the risk involved. I suggest try pads like denim pad which can also provide clarity while cutting the clear.
