  • Order Duplicated

I ordered a few items from Meguiars online on 4/17/05. The order total was for 58.88. That order was fulfilled and I was satisified with my products I had ordered and received.

Aproximately, 10 days later I received an Email from Meguiars about an order confirmation??? It was exactly the same products I had already ordered and received, but this was a new order being sent and my Card was charged again.

I called Cust. Service and they informed me that they had a web problem and that my order was duplicated and I was told it probably would be shipping, I had hoped to catch it before it shipped, Well apparently it did not ship and I was told my Credit Card would be Credited back 58.88.

That was a little over a week ago and I just checked my Card balance online and theres no Credit back to my account. So as of now.. Ive been charged about 118.00 for 2 brushes, 2 towels and a grit guard, metal polish, water magnet towel
The order # thts giving me this headache is #238137
I just got home from work and I was hoping to call customer service but there closed now.

    I hate when this happens.

I am sure Mike or one of the other employees will post soon with some additional info. Until then, don't worry. Meguiars has the best customer service out of any company I have ever done buisness with.

If Meguiars states that they have credited your account they probaly have. I have done IT support for a very large credit card company in the past and here is the deal with credits. When you go to the store and charge something the charge gets posted immediatly. When you get a credit to your account it can take up to 60 days to show up. With out going in to great detail, the credit card companies do this for people that carry a balance on there account so that they can make money on the interest for 60 days before the credit clears. They have been doing this for years. Just as another bit of info most banking institutions state that there headquaters are in Deleware, Neveda and I think South Dakota. These state have very relaxed laws when it comes to banking. They heavily favor the corporations.

        Just my 2 cents

Forgive me for the hijack robnyva....

But flipper, can you tell me why some banks debit $50.00 from their people's bank account for, say, a $20.00 meal.....Or $20.00 worth of gas?

I'm speaking of a debit card here.

I've heard horror stories about some consumers overdrawing their checking accounts (Not realizing it at the time) by financial institutions using that tactic.

          Sounds crooked to me!

This is sad but true. When you go to a resturant for instance you eat a meal and then get the bill for $20 that does not include the tip. You hand the server you credit card or debit card to pay for the meal. You have $40 in your account you say I have plenty of money in my account for the meal. The meal is $20 dollars well the server wants to make sure that he gets a tip right so he will pre authorized the meal with $50 so he gets a big tip. With a preauthorize you card gets basicaly card as if it were a purchase. Then when the server goes back to to the resgister and enters in the correct amount for the meal and the ajustments are made. Then you get your bill and find out that you have insufficant funds and the meal actually cost you 20 dollars and the another 30 for the overage and then 5 dollars for a tip. I know that this may not make a whole lot of sence but it is hard to explain this here. In sort I will give any one advise when it come to credit cards and debt cards. DON'T USE THEM If you have to never use a debt card use the credit card and pay the balance off at the end of the month. I know that this may not be an option now but that is the goal. I can not stand paying interest on a credit card at 22% for a candy bar or a gallon of gas. You think paying $2.50 for a gallon of gas in bad after the intrest it could be $10 a gallon or even higher.

Sorry that this is off the origanal subject. If any one has further queations please open a trend ion the break room and I would be more than happy to reply.

It is not Meguires (or any merchant) that is holding up the credit on the card it is the credit card company.
