Fine Cut Cleaned # 2 problem - cant wipe it off...

I used Fine Cut Cleaner on my car. I worked with oscilating buffer.
One side of the car mostly worked out perfectly, clean and shiny although there were few minor spots that I could not wipe off residue of (cloudy/dark grayish spots) Fine Cut Cleaner.
The problem started on the other side of the car. I applied the product to the whole side of the car, then when it dried I was could not to wipe it off 100%. I was able to get rid off white residue but still was left with this cloudy dark gray spots...
Looks terrible. Tried water with soap, thinner, nail polish remover. Nothing works.
Any ideas how to get rid of this?

I just phoned Meguiar's Customer Service number, automated service informed me that its vacation time for Meguiar's and there is no one to help me.

Ok so what I under stand is you applied this to the entire side of the car then after you finished you went back and tried to removed the dry product and you now can get it off. If so then you need to try either quick detailer spray or go back and reaply the M2 and do small sections at a time. You should not allow the product to dry on the paint.

Work in sections at no more that 2x2 area. Remove the product before it dries.

Yes I read the directions and from there I'm advising you what to do. Nearly dry doe not mean let it dry. When working with compounds and polishes you never want them to dry as what your dealing with is the common problem.

So reapply M2 to your pad re-work the area(2x2 section) Do not allow the product to dry and remove with a microfiber towel. The flip the towel for a final wipe.

The only time you want to apply a product and let sit to dry is a sealant or wax. Anything else needs to be removed prior to the product drying on the panel

I will try buying Quik Detailed on my way back home just in case.
I found at Canadian Tire Ultimate Quik Detailer, would be that the same thing (we have problem with Maguir's product availability)?

After long fight, (.30-1.30h per door!) I was able to remove about 90% of the spots, but still I could not get this cloudy residue out of some places.
I think its the product that has gone sour for some reason...
Top part in the bottle was ok, that's why I was able to go thru first half of the car with no problems. Then got to the second half and the problems started.
I tried applying and wiping (when still wet) on a small area, same thing, cloudy **** left on the paint and then difficult to get rid of.
I am in Edmonton, I hear the main Canadian distributor is here, I can even leave the bottle with them so they can test it themselves.
Need to buy another one Fine Cut Cleaner anyways. I assume new one wont play such tricks, I was pretty happy with this one for a while...
I bought it like... 6 years ago... Thanks for the help.

Sorry to hear about your difficulty with our Fine Cut Cleaner. The advice given by the other members related to what may have caused the problem and possible solutions is right on. It is also possible that this product being more than 6 years old could have lost it's correct consistency adding to the difficulty of application and removal.

We should also point out that you may be much better suited with a different product designed for use by hand or orbital buffer. Something with newer technology, like our Ultimate Compound, will give better results and will be easier to use with this method of application.

No waxing/polishing product in its normal state should leave gray/cloudy marks that are almost impossible to wipe off...
I remember using this product in the past and typically when dry it could be easily wiped off, it would just turn into dust and leave no marks on the paint.
Right now there are few spots on my car that I just cant wipe off...
When I use thinner, alcohol or windex they turn milky white and gets even worse.
What a pain, so much time lost trying to get this stuff off and cant see end of it...

You're not supposed to let it dry.

Notwithstanding that, something seems wrong here. No way it should be that hard to remove, even if you DID let it dry. Either the product was bad, or the marks you're seeing are something else (were already there). Is that a possibility?

Don't let the product dry. Fine Cut is an older product that I haven't used for maybe 15 years. It was a good product, but by today's standards there are MUCH better alternatives, as Mike has mentioned in an earlier post. I remember that if you left a small section of the product on a panel (purely by mistake, not intentionally) it could be a real problem to remove. The newer products benefit from modern technology and don't have nearly as many quirks as old school products like Fine Cut. It isn't a bad product, don't get me wrong, it is just that technology has moved forwards in leaps and bounds, and these days the problems like you're having are easily avoidable.
