  • MF pads delaminating

Anyone else had this problem? Three out of my four 6" MF discs (two cutting and one finishing) have separated in multiple spots from the black backing. I have followed directions in regards to cleaning them after use according to Forum members recommendations, and have never allowed them to sit soaking for long periods.

Any fixes for this, or am I due for replacements?
    Thanks.

      Re: MF pads delaminating

Sorry about the issue with your microfiber discs. There were some issues with earlier production runs (the 6" discs are not all that common as 5" discs are recommended for DA use and 6" for use with the Flex 3401 and similarly sized tools) but that should all be resolved now. We've moved this thread to the Customer Service Hotline section so that it will generate an email to our Customer Care Center manager, Brian Hann. He should be contacting you about replacement of the pads. Our apologies for not seeing this thread sooner, and for the issues with your pads.

I have gone through a ton of mf pads that delaminated... I never bothered calling for replacements, I just stopped using them...

If the issue has been resolved I will place an order for more. They get fantastic results, but at the very high failure rate I was seeing I didnt like it to cut into my bottom line.

Mr. Stoops, how is one to be sure they are getting the revised version?

My first set did this also. I went thru my 2 cutting pads doing the hood and 1 fender.
After searching the forums I figured it was my technique.
I lowered the speed on my machine to a bit under 4, used a lot less product (4 pea sized drops), and avoided excess heat on the pad.
When my new pads came in i was able to finish my entire car with 1 pad and it is still ready to go for more.
