  • Bottle Collapse

I've ventured into the Detailer Line and purchased some products requiring dilution. One is All Purpose Cleaner Plus. In addition to the gallon of product, I purchased two bottles and sprayers for the two most common dilution rates of 1:4 and 1:10.

I been using one the of the bottles and it is collapsing, like I'm creating a vacuum in the bottle. Have I purchased the wrong spray head? It's all white.

Thanks for any advice you may offer.

Sounds like a sprayer issue; although we very rarely hear of this happening. Have you tried to take the sprayer out, run the product fully through it and then put it back in the bottle again?

Thanks for your interest. I'll be using it again next week. It does deliver product, but collapses the bottle as it does. I'll report back next week.

      Again, thanks.

I had that happen to a bottle once. Put a tiny pin hole near the top of the bottle - should take care of it. Worked great for me - haven't had a problem since.

Man, I was over thinking this problem. Pinhole works just fine.

          Thanks for a simple solution.

I was thinking the hydraulically operated, pneumatically controlled, torsionally adjusted, thing-a-ma-bob was broken or the genie in the bottle wasn't pumping the bellows fast enough.

I'm glad I read this. I've had the same issue with my APC+ bottle. But sounds like the question still remains, is it the bottle's fault or the sprayer?

Yes, this would be a sprayer issue.

Really? Because the sprayer worked fine, it just seemed that something was creating a "vacuum" in the bottle, but making the tiny hole made a way for air to escape.

The only thing I can figure is the sprayer is not allowing air to flow back into the bottle. Therefor, causing the bottle to collapse.

I come to this conclusion, because many of my spray bottles are the same ones I've used for years and never had this issue untill I changed out sprayers.

I don't know the answer. Maybe we should call in Jesse Ventura or perhaps, Ace Ventura to get to the bottom of this issue once and for all

Yes, that is exactly what was happening and it was caused by the sprayer mechanism.
