    Same problem as rauljimenez... I was working on a fender with a yellow polishing pad with about 10lbs of pressure with m205 on speed 4 and all of a sudden the backing plate ripped off.. At first I thought I didnt screw it in all the way but soon realized that my bp was in two peices.

    I really liked this backing plate, and Meguiar's customer service is great. They resolved a problem I had last year. Hope maybe this issue will be resolved the same way... I attached some pictures below

    It happened to me as well last summer while working with 7207 and rotary on the hood of my boss'es car. Meguiar's Direct sent me a free replacement as the backing plate was only couple weeks old. No problems with new W68 for over a year.

            Our call center staff has a mechanism whereby they log any and all complaints, suggestions, comments, etc that is seen by everyone in the company. We track trends, issues and concerns and constantly work to improve or enhance products so that we're always bringing the best we can to you.

                  What did we miss here? We responded above after you posted that you had called and the issue was resolved? Did we misunderstand that - do you still need to have this replaced?
