Backing plate g110v2 broke (My First DA 25 minutes)

After 25 minutes of using my first DA this is what happened :















Now I know Meguiar will help me through this but I cant get the metal part that is stuck to the machine with the THREADS OUT, how can I do this since I have like no support to move it counter clockwise

darn this is frustrating as heck, first DA (25 minutes and dead)

Can you not hold onto the shaft with the supplied wrench and then somehow grab (what's left of) the backing plate and try to unscrew it?

Perhaps vice-grips or similar to hold onto the backing plate?

You are supposed to just snug that on there, not torque it to 75lb feet

That's probably what it was. Good thinking. The metal would have been stressed and the additional torque finished it off.

Still, customer car will likely take care of rauljimenez. I recommend leaving it as is. They may want the unit back as a whole so they can do some testing.

I'll see what Meguiar replies to moi !!!! I was so excited of detailing for the first timeeee and went down with the excitement lol

I can return the machine back again no problem if it needs to be for testing purposes.

This same thing happend to me as well yesterday... Ripped right off thank goodness I didnt hit the buffer onto the fender...
