  • Defective U.C.

    I just wanted to thank Meguiars for sending me a replacement bottle of U.C. for the defective bottle that I had. Thanks again.

    Cool. Just goes to show that Meguiar's actually cares about the customer and not just about making money.

            They did well by me too. I asked if I should send the defective UC bottle back, he told me just to throw it away.

                    Yes, please give us a call when you get a minute. Make sure you mention this thread and my post. No, the Ultimate Compound should not be watery. If you can do us a favor and read the batch code off of the bottle when you call that would really help us out.

                      The customer care line is a joke. they just tell you to take it back to the place you got it and Wal-mart wouldn't take it back. So im stuck with a defective bottle of watery ultimate compound.

                        Not sure what bumping an old thread is going to do to help you.

                        Why dont you call Customer Care back, I bet if you tell them Walmart wouldnt take it back they will send you a replacement bottle.

                          I'm a new Meguiars user and to be honest I've had a couple of problems here and there with their products. HOWEVER, every time I have a problem and call their customer service or send them an email, they have been extremely polite and helpful. Both times they replaced the product with no questions asked and went above and beyond to make sure I was a happy camper. Some of their products may cost more than their competitors but it's the peace of mind that they will take care of me no matter what that keeps me coming back (as well as their quality). I'm extremely surprised that they told you to take it back to Wal-mart. Maybe you ran into a customer service representative that was just having a bad day or didn't understand their satisfaction guarantee. I would give Meguiars another shot at earning your business.

                            There are obviously two ways to get a replacement bottle of a defective product - we either send one to you, which takes some time to ship, or you can return to place of purchase for an exchange. Obviously returning to place of purchase is going to be quicker, and with a holiday weekend coming up that is generally the preferred method for most people. By the way, even though you and we are both in SoCal, our production and warehousing is in the MidWest, hence the potentially longish shipping time. In any event, it is a bit surprising that WalMart wouldn't exchange it for you, and we certainly understand how frustrating that must be.

                            By all means please do call Customer Care again in the morning and explain this situation to them - that WalMart refused to exchange it, and they will gladly send you a replacement.

                            Again, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced here. Temperature extremes can damage some products, and once the product leaves our production facility we have no control over how it is stored, or how long it is stored before it lands on a retail shelf. But we do stand behind all of our products, 100%, and we will make this right for you.
