  • Question Regarding Storage Temperature

Hi, I've had this question before and ask it elsewhere in the forum but never got an official answer. So I decided I'd call Customer Care instead, but before I do that, I'll post it here.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona, and my garage can get easily over 120° F, especially after a few of the cars have driven around and then park in the garage with their heated engines.

I'd also like to carry some Meguiar's interior care and quick detailer products in my vehicle for touch-ups on the go. When I park outside, such as during work for 11+ hours, the car can get very very hot as well.

So my bottom line question is which Meguiar's products are safe to store at high temperatures?

And perhaps to add on to that, how high of a temperature can most of them be stored at?

I think it is supposed to be between 45-90 or something like that, there are numerous thread around about this topic, search around, you will find some.

      Re: Question Regarding Storage Temperature

I wouldn't store anything in your car (especially in AZ), or your stuff is going to go bad very quickly. You can look at the MSDS sheets for products to find out what the recommended storage temp is and info like that.

Carfire & CieraSL are correct. You do not want to store any products in thoses kinds of extreme conditions.

          Re: Question Regarding Storage Temperature

That's understandable but somewhat disappointing, at least concerning the quick detailing products, since I'd like to carry some in my car.

I think I'll take the risk for those, but the rest I'll store in my house instead of the garage.

          Thank you.

            Re: Question Regarding Storage Temperature

Sounds good. We make no promises, especially in the Arizona heat, but from experience I can tell you that a Detailer is generally less affected by these kinds of things. Waxes, polishes, and the like are more likely to separate and become unusable. Also keep in mind that application of these products in extreme temperatures is not recommended.

              Re: Question Regarding Storage Temperature

So, I guess this would also be true with the Meguiar's cannister packaged products such as Quick Interior Wipes?

I live in the Northeast where we get below freezing temperatures in winter, to high heat and humidity in the summer. I'd like to be able to keep a cannister of Quick Detailer Wipes in the car altogether, but I worry that they would dry up fast in the trunk of a car especially in the summer?
