Complete water transformation of M82

I went to use my half of a 32oz bottle of M82. I shook it as normal but felt a some what watery consistency, rather than cream like. Needles to say I found out the hard way as I squeezed the bottle and the watery m82 made a huge mess. Why did M82 turn completely to liquid? The consistency is that of water. I checked my other bottles of 82, 80, 83 and 85. They were all fine. I purchased this bottle of 82 along with 84 and 80 in the summer of 2006 from ADS. I was under the impression that the shelf life of these products were from 3 to 5 years as long as the temperatures remained consistent? I store all my products tightly closed and shake thoroughly before and during use. Along with keeping the temperature consistent.

I was told once that bacteria can eat away at the product leaving the water mess.

I guess the Bacteria prefer M82 over the rash of other Meguiars product i have...
Thanks for chiming in. Have you experienced this? I would assume no, due to your volume of work. Which I might add is phenomenal.

Yes I have. The same with #49 and #09 sometimes.

Same thing happened to my 82 and only partially to 83 and 80... you MUST shake them weekly even if they're stored in room temperature. Mine sat for about 8-9 months and, as you said, 82 doesn't look like cream or polish at all, simply water like.. the other two are different than my brand new bottles but still a little more liquid

I am out half a bottle of my M82 due to the product turning to a non useable watery substance. I feel I did nothing wrong with my storage techniques as I still have competitors products pushing over 5 years and still useable. I prefer not to use them as I made a total transition to Meguiars only products and hope to stay that way.

Thanks Brain..I just called customer care and they remedied the situation. Just to follow up, this situation is a RARE occurance. I feel at ease now, considering how much product I have stocked. Thanks Meguiars

What exactly did they say? I'm thinking should call as well, since my #83 and #80 sat for even longer and aren't nearly as bad, and #83 is pretty much like new bottle... plus my bottles were even newer than yours, bought in summer/fall of 2007
