Mold In My X-Press Wax?

I just used my X-Press wax gallon a few weeks ago and today I was organizing the garage a bit and noticed a dark ring around the bottle at the height of the wax. I looked closer and opened the bottle, it appears mold has grown on the bottle as well as on the surface of the wax. I think it's about two years old, maybe three at the most. When I took it out of winter storage a few weeks ago I shook the bottle really good.

So my question is... What happened to cause mold to grow in the bottle? I don't want all my products to get moldy. Or is this something else and not mold that happens to X-Press wax?

Hey Scott,

I have never heard of mold growing on X-Press Wax. I have 2-3 gallons left from 5 years ago and it is still fine. I just used some the other day.

Perhaps Mike Phillips or Mike Pennington will have an idea...

I took a few photos tonight. You can see the dark ring around the bottle, as well as specks above on the inside of the bottle. Also it appears to be spotted throughout the wax. Thanks for any ideas guys!

Is there a way to locate the batch code off the back of the bottle? It should be a number that is stamped into the plastic bottle. If you have any trouble locating it I may just request that you ship the entire bottle back to our office in Irvine so we can investigate.

Got by X-press wax out yesterday to use. To my surprise the bottle was full of mold; just like the picture in this thread. Some pretty funky looking stuff. It is about two years old.

Wonder if it's from the same batch. I figured it was something I did so I never called customer support. Maybe I'll give them a call now, I have been saving the bottle just in case.
