I bought a tube of ScratchX from walmart yesterday and I went to use it today. I open the top and am about to apply it to my pad and then out of nowhere lots and lots of water comes out. Whats wrong here? Should I go and try to return it or will Megs be able to send me a new tube?

If it's not too much of a hassle, taking it back to where you bought it is the correct policy.

Even though the product is in a tube, we always give ours a shake before using it, don't know if this would have made a difference for this tube, but we use a lot of Scratchx at our classes and have a habit developed over the years to shake liquid car care products.

I shook it. Even after all the water came out, ScratchX was still watery. I should also include that it was the new formula. Ill take it back today and see what they say.

By watery do you mean a clear liquid came out or the product was thin instead of a cream? I've found the new reformulated Scratch-X to be a thinner liquid than the hand-apply only recipe was. Maybe you're just seeing new vs old Scratch-X.

The first part that came out was pretty clear. When the actual cream came out, it was colored but still was like water. It wasnt like a thin creme at all.

The new ScratchX formula is a lot thinner, but it should have a uniform consistency especially if it's shaken first. At this point since some of the product has been poured out you'll want a new tube, see what the store says and if you have any problems contact Customer Care and cite this thread.

I returned it today and just picked up a new tube. I got the old formula as I like that one better. I prefer to apply it by hand Ill try it out on some spots on my first paid detail tonight/tomorrow
