  • Buffer Rattling

While buffing out a car today with my G100 it began to rattle and the assembly that you screw the backing plate into started to flop around. Can I fix this? If not where do I send my buffer back to redeem my lifetime warranty?
    Thanks for any info,
    Cole

Are you using it without the handle?

      Re: Buffer Rattling

The reason we ask is because the plastic cap over the end of the drive unit is designed to be held on with the handle. Most of use the PC without the handle and over time it looses it's snug fit and begins to rattle.

This is why if you ever see any pictures of myself at a Saturday detailing class using the G100/PC with one hand you'll also see I have my index finger placed over the top of the cover. This allows me to apply downward pressure better as well as prevents the loud rattling noise from happening.

Octaneguy found a place to get the correct bolts to tighten the cap down without the handle.

Thanks for the quick reply Mike. Its actually not the plastic case thats rattling but the drive unit inside of it. It wobbles when buffing and it causes the drive unit to rub against the outside casing thus causing the rattle.
