gallons and litres

I am confused about the label on a #62,



it states at the bottom that 1 gallon is 1.89 litres.



isnt a US gallonm equal to 3.78 litres?

I want to make sure of this because i live in Europe and use the metric system.

A US gallon is indeed 3.78 liters.

Can't comment on the packaging.

Another option... That package might be a half gallon which is 1.89 liters.
